I take these words from AI VP Comm 0809

WIDY DINARTI LIKES THIS!
"AI role as many others in AIESEC is accessible for all the members. You only need understand the organisation, work for it, learn about it, talk with people, perform different roles, commit with different tasks, be part of teams, attend conferences, read documents. Understand why do we exist and what for. And then, imagine how it could be better. Think bigger, apply your academic and working experience and knowledge, ask for advices to your parents, to your teachers, read a lot. AIESEC is a platform to innovate!

If you know what AIESEC is about and you know how can it be bigger and better!, then apply for AI!"

and it happend...

well, I've got my laptop in trouble...
something that I can do is only pray and pray for the best of its life... (read: I wish all my data are saved)
fortunately, lately I do everything online... so that I've already had some of my important files saved in online whether on myaiesc.net or my emails

but... I'm still afraid with some of my files...

well, the moral lesson of this accident:
ALWAYS UPLOAD YOUR FILES ONLINE AND MAKE THE BACK UP CD OF IT
(I think this moral lesson is more for my self~ hehehe)

How AIESEC can challenge mindsets*

* taken from http://theaiesecblog.wordpress.com/2009/07/08/how-aiesec-can-challenge-mindsets/#comment-77

In AIESEC we know lots of people who discovered a new way to see the world,
and inside this new way, found that their skills and competences could be developed beyond the imaginable. This is one of them, Stefanie Gösele, alumnus from @Germany:

“AIESEC is, in my opinion, the first choice for young people who want
to develop their personalities and broaden their horizons. Among the most
important skills and qualities that a student can acquire in AIESEC are
leadership skills and entrepreneurship. When I was younger, I was completely
lacking an entrepreneurial mindset and considered myself incapable of ever
managing business of my own. Then I joined AIESEC.

From my first days in AIESEC, I started taking responsibility, first as a project manager, then as Vice President Finance, then on national level. I lead teams of up to six people, was involved in the management of my local committee, audited the accounting of eight local committees, coached and guided many people and delivered many training sessions on different topics. In a nutshell, I learned to take – and to love – responsibility.

This experience was intensified during my AIESEC internships in Tunisia and
India. I have seen everything from a still slightly unorganized start-up to a
struggling IT company to a well developed local company. I have worked in
marketing, financial controlling, human resources, customer support, project management and in sales. This wide range of working areas has helped me a lot to
deepen my business knowledge and leadership skills and to get a better understanding of the international working world.

I am currently working as key account manager in an Indian IT company where I am responsible for all customer communications as well as customer support and I am also involved in project and task management. Never in my life have I had so
much responsibility, and this constantly challenges me to grow and to become stronger every day. And yet, I am only an intern – but an AIESEC intern. I don’t
think that a normal intern would be given so much trust and confidence by a company and would have such an amazing learning experience.

I am really grateful for the many amazing opportunities that AIESEC has given me in the last four and a half years. Without AIESEC I would be a completely different person today – and a considerably less strong, confident and experienced one.” -Stefanie Gösele

reading this post makes me really moved..suddenly I drop my tears..

well, actually I start to have the same feeling..before I join AIESEC, I don’t have any idea about being an entrepreneur.. I felt that being an entrepreneur is really beyond of my imagination…
but after I being LCP, even I’ve just start my term at 1st July 2009…

I do really believe that I can be an entrepreneur..

and being entrepreneur is not a dream anymore, because we can live on it via AIESEC

about my AIESEC mentoring, my AIESEC meentees, and NARUTO!*

*this post is dedicated to all mentees that I've ever had...

AIESEC Global Learning Environment
Left to Right: Self Reflection, Team Experience, Mentorship, Virtual Space-forums, blogs & resources sharing-, Conference & Seminar, Learning Circle

In AIESEC we have global learning environment that comprised of 6 entities.
One of those six is Mentorship.
What is mentoring?

Mentoring is a one to one relationship that allows mentors to support mentees in finding their own path for development and growth. It is a “means to an end”, the ultimate objective is the realization of the mentee’s full potential by exploring alternatives and encouraging others to act.
Mentors have three qualifications that enable them to offer such guidance:
o Experience: they have been in the mentee’s ‘shoes’ before
o Perspective: they are able to share thoughts and other viewpoints related to the position the mentee is in at the moment
o Distance: the mentor does not have direct influence on the mentee’s job role and performance

True mentoring is a confidential relationship between two members who share personal growth and organizational success as common goals.

Mentor vs. Coach

A coach aims to help the person achieve his/her best performance.
A coach is trying to direct a person to some end result, the person may choose how to get there, but the coach is strategically assessing and monitoring the progress and giving advice for effectiveness and efficiency.

Mentors are a sounding board, they can give advice but the mentee is free to pick and choose what they do. The context does not have specific performance objectives.
The major theme for the mentor is one who has a deeper personal interest, a trusted partner who cares about you and your long-term development.
The major theme for the coach is one who develops specific skills for the task, challenges, and performance expectation at work.

well,,,,
I've just had mentorship meeting with my mentees..
and I do really admit that mentorship meeting is really fun somehow..
we share about gossips, musics, movies as well as the professional things in AIESEC.

on my last saturday night, I spent my time with my mentees (both of them are guy).
so there's completely not true that I've never spent my saturday night with guy.. *devil laugh*

On that night, our main agenda for mentorship meeting is about our Personal Goal Settings (PGS)...
even for me, it's really a great learning to coach them how to build their PGS.

so it is true that you will get more knowledge and learning if you share it to others...

Our mentoring meeting was held from 5pm into 11 pm.
actually I plan to have separate time for them.
One from 5-7pm, another at 7-9pm...
but suddenly it become 5-11pm,
and we make it just like a learning circle with 3 people inside...
maybe it because we meet not oftenly, so we enjoy the time then talk so much at that time...
or....
it is because they're afraid to ask going-home-permittion from me since they haven't finished their PGS...

hmmm... I think it is more to the last reason... (I KNOW IT GUYS!!!)

and then in the middle of our meeting...
with less concentration since it's already late night..
the boys come up with idea that our mentoring group name is:

drum roll please!!!!

JANG JANG!

TARA!!!!

NARUTO GANK!!!!

Not just you,,
I'm just speechless in knowing this... (-_-!!!)

then They inaugurated me as Kakashi...

btw, I proudly present my mentoring group

Sasuke = Fickar Ardana
Naruto = Ali Affandi
Sakura = Marina Fariza
and you can see the dawn? That's Citra Maharani (hahahahaha! well, Maharani in Bahasa Indonesia means Sun)
last but not least Kakashi = ME!

honestly, I don't what my mentees have in their mind about this...
and I hope the buzz that say "mentees inherit from their mentors" is not true
(-_-!!)

My First Post

Hello!!!!

Ok! It will be my last blog and (hopefully) will be the official blog of me!

I know,,, I tend to not have serious blog lately...

serious here means constantly in manage..

well, counting how many blog that I've already made. This blog (if I'm not mistaken) is my 5th blog since I was in junior high school...

Thinking about publish some note here, I hope it can be my way in balancing my life...

It's already long time I haven't managed and documented my life seriously...

I just remember and inspired by Soe Hok Gie.

We do really need to write our opinion or something that came in our mind as well as our journal...

why? because we need to have our legacy to our inheritor.

Through our writing, at least they can say "OMG! This is how the ancient people live"

moreless, it will be like if we see the picture below... ;p
