My Video for AIESEC in Surabaya Alumni Session

Because I skipped so many alumni sessions of my LC due to my availability, I decided to upload this video I made in October 2013. I hope the AIESEC members from my LC will have more awesome experience than in my generation :) :)

today is a big day for me!

Today, 5th of March 2012, another loop in my life!

why?
why?
why?

It's (simply) because I just send my application for AIESEC International Vice President Marketing 2012-2013!

Even right now, I still can't believe that finally I made it!

I made the decision, filling up the booklet, juggling with the time, booking time for meeting with bunch of people, having lot of deep personal conversation with my family and my best friends.

And YES I'M APPLYING FOR AIESEC International (AI)!

Maybe it's not easy for you who haven't joined in AIESEC yet to understand how am I feeling right now.

Well, for me, AI position is something that is really sacred. I feel that it takes HUGE and TON of more courage to apply for AI rather than applying for job or scholarship. I guess it is because you can apply for job or scholarship anytime, but AI is a once in a life time experience.

When I was new member of AIESEC, there was an AI Introduction video (I don't which year of AI, but they were wearing dark blue light blue stripes jersey) that really inspired me a lot. Honestly I didn't have any idea what is AI, who they are, what they are doing, why they do exist in AIESEC, but something that I know is: this people are looked so cool, smart, and awesome! they seems do a huge responsibility and tasks but they are happy with it and they enjoy every single moment that they do! the most important factor that really struck me is that they are so young but they do a serious business just like other old people in the level-C management of multinational corporation.

Since the first time I joined AIESEC, deep down in my heart I always want to experience being in AI team. But I didn't have even gut to apply for that not even thinking of applying. Thinking of applying AI was something that beyond my reach. I guess it is also supported by the fact that there were only 2 Indonesian who apply for AI in the last 7 years. So, applying for AI is something that is beyond our culture, beyond our paradigm, beyond everything. I guess if Jennie was not in AI last year, the thought of being AI will never really be existed in our members mind.

So, finally I made it!

I feel super excited with it!

This is super awesome!

This is amazing!

It's been years I only become the spectator of AI selection process, I downloaded the application, read the applicants booklet, watch their video and really get super duper amazed! Then, this year! I really make it happen! I'm part of the selection process!!!

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!

Alhamdulillahirrabbilalamin :)

Thank you for AIESEC LC Surabaya, AIESEC in Indonesia, and AIESEC Thailand.
It's been an amazing year to get the learning from this 3 entities.

So I can say that I present this AI application journey to Allah, my parents, The Diamond, Sunshine, The Pioneer and all of my members who have helped me in finishing this application :) :)

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

ok! This is my application video for AI :)

p.s. this is just the beginning :D

Sunshine

Woke up this morning
Another brand new start
That' s our life
I jumped with every beat of my heart
When you came over
I could see something was wrong
It really isn't worth that you
just get to keep moving alone

You know that I always be there

I'll be your sunshine after the rain
When the sky is turning grey
You know that I'm never far away
Sunshine after the rain
Together 'til the end
Whenever you're in need of a friend
`cause a shoulder to cry on
someone there to rely on
I'll be your sunshine after the rain
It's the one thing I won't change

We know each other
Since I don't know how long
As long as I remember
You were always there
Singing along
There 've been some good times
And it's even been some sad
But we always somehow managed
To get something good
Out of the bad

Remember I'll always be there

I'll be your sunshine after the rain
When the sky is turning grey
You know that I'm never far away
Sunshine after the rain
Together 'til the end
Whenever you're in need of a friend
`cause a shoulder to cry on
someone there to rely on
I'll be your sunshine after the rain
It's the one thing I won't change

Some say that friends
will come and go
But this thing we have
will always grow
It`s just one of these things you know

Sunshine-good times
I know we`ll be fine

Sunshine- good
I know we'll be fine

I moved to tears...

Some weeks ago, I did something that has already been my routine activities in AIESEC,
communicate AIESEC news to the network.

I emailed people about Entrepreneurship & Youth - a Learning Network (EYLN 2010) held by AIESEC in UKM, Malaysia.
One of the people is a (super proactive) student from Universitas Ciputra (Alvin Livano)

Something that came up in my mind is only I know that
Alvin and his friends are bunch of youth who has interest in entrepreneurship and this EYLN 2010 event will be such a good thing for them to improve their personal and professional development.

Dude! They are bunch of 18 years super proactive & active learner kids!
how come you don't want to support them!

Amazingly, it returned to positive respond, Alvin start to asked about the program in detail, how to get visa, and how to deal with the Indonesian-going-aboard-tax (read: NPWP thingy)

days turns to weeks

I've got message from Alvin
"Sis, we won the competition in Malaysia"

OMG!!!

OMG!!!

and here is the news from Universitas Ciputra website:

http://www.ciputra.ac.id/news/184-mahasiswa-ibm-berjaya-di-eyln-2010.html

Look at their innocent face in AIESEC activities :) :)
so peaceful :>

They won the 3rd prize for Business Idea Competition and 1st winner for Simulation Business Competition.

today, I've got email from Alvin, and he give testimonial about AIESEC voluntarily (I even did not ask him to write this :D )

Selama di Malaysia, kita bener-bener dianggep temen deket sama temen-temen aiesec Malaysia...
mskipun kita bukan aiesecer...tapi kita bener-bener dianggep kayak temen deket sama mereka...

Kita pengen banget join AIESEC...
skali lagi..Thanks buat AIESEC yang udah kasi kesempatan ke kita....

(I try to translate it in English)

During in Malaysia, AIESECers really taking care of us as we are their very best friend. Even we are not AIESECers, they really super friendly to us.
AIESEC is super amazing!
From this AIESEC event, we get a lot of international network, we get friends from all over the world. We discussed and shared a lot of idea for our business with firneds from over the world, we even get reseller for our product from Malaysia and Nigeria.

Thank you AIESEC who has gived us this amazing opportunities.

for sure, we want to apply for AIESECers.
and I believe we can also make such event in Indonesia.

Once again, Thank you AIESEC!

*this is super a medicine of such a broken heart feeling :D

when the transition has finished...

May 18th 2010 is the last day of team to team transition AIESEC in Indonesia National Team

look at our happy face

to celebrate it, we decided to have an economically-better-but-we-still-afford-it food,
and it goes to..
KFC!

even most of us took the 15,000 IDR package that has already contained black pepper chicken, coke, rice, and dessert/appetizer such as pudding, cream soup, etc. :D

after that, random things started to happend

somebody shouted out about visit Jakarta Fashion & Food Festival in Kelapa Gading Mall

then it goes to...

Kampoeng Tempo Doeloe (super delight festival to try traditional food from 1940s era)

*taken by Andra

*taken by me

hmmm... honestly speaking we didn't try any food there, since we have already had our dinner, and we're so FULL

for the Wine & Cheese festival, (in the advertising, it is said that we can try all wine & cheese for free) but in the fact we need to pay 20,000 IDR for the entrace gate and we see it just looks like global village in international congress and we still have a full bottle of red wine that has not been opened yet, then... we just pass it :D

Sooo.... we're just taking picture in every interesting spot such this Betawi House :D

well, generally comment this festival is tottally full of tasty food...
we should visit here again before it finished

then, we went back home...
BUT, in the middle of the journey
suddenly somebody shouted out about having karaoke this night

then, it goes to 1 hour karaoke in NAV

Cath was singing Indonesian song (Geisha-Jika cinta dia)

finally, we went to our MC house, and ready to work for tomorrow :) :)
