Loading my brain

If you wonder what am I doing in this past 10 days

I'm having general transition for national team of AIESEC in Indonesia.

a lot of awesome things happened here, such as doing the analysis of internal and external data AIESEC local committee in 6 cities, having the competitive analysis for AIESEC in the national level, brainstorming about our vision for one year ahead which is will shape this organization for the next 5 years, creating strategy for our international business thingy...

yes it is a lot, but seriously it is totally FUN and I'm enjoying it so much!

oohhh National Focus Area and Balance Score Card~

and the super fabulous thing is I got opportunity to meet and discuss with Mas Bido, he is the former Chair of Supervisory Group of AIESEC in Indonesia

with Mas Bido, we talk about anything from professional until personal...

and the super interesting one is he shared to us about...

L.O.V.E

How to get the most suitable partner of life, you need to consider this criteria:

1. Someone who you can grow with
2. Someone who you really like
3. Someone who is responsible
4. Someone who you can travel with
5. Someone who you can respect to

hmmm... I think I've found that kind of person :D

and here are the people in the AIESEC in Indonesia national transition

AIESEC in Indonesia National Team 2009-2011

then...
here is my upcoming team!!!

You Know You Are Doing Too Much AIESEC Work When...

so this is totally funny!
I've just ound out in Facebook group, and it has around 2,995 people inside :D

and I will highlight what is representing me... and what about you?

You know that you are doing too much AIESEC work when:

1. You get more sleep in lectures than in your bed. (udah ga kuliah lagi)

2. All your roommates are AIESECers. (secara aku tinggal di MC office)

3. You use the AIESEC o ffice key more than your house keys. (ya iyalah, rumah di malang)

4.
You have little AIESEC office / corner in your house. (hahaha! of course that corner is for sugar cubes, that one os for souvenir, that one for LC stuffs)

5. Your home is now known as the AIESEC house. (in fact now I'm living in MC office, my dormitory was sounds like that!)

6. You see sunrise and sunset in school, maybe even miss them if the office is doesn't have windows. (thanks God! the office has lot of windows! :D )

7. You memorize acronyms faster than anyone in class. (ha!)

8. The first thing you do when you wake up in the morning is if you have more marketing proposals to write. (procasination is killer!)

9. You miss more classes than AIESEC meetings. (of course not lah ya)

10. When you wake up every morning to find 60 SPAM emails in each account you have. (maybe because I'm not exchanger, so only 10-20 lah in my inbox)

11. You have to do an assignment on organisational structure and you smile secretly to yourself knowing what you are going to an alyse AIESEC's Structure. (proved by my skripsi!)

12. When 98% of your MSN list contacts are AIESEC members. (my YM, my Gtalk, my facebook say so! hahaha)

13. When you have lunches in the AIESEC's office, not the school cafeteria. (ada meeting sih)

14. When 15 of the 20GB your computer holds is taken by AIESEC related. (well my pc is around 150GB but yes there is around 20GB about AIESEC there)

15. When you have listen to AIESEC songs to motivate you to draft proposals. Even do the dance to keep yourself awake . (udah pasti semua AIESECers gini lah! bahkan alumni aja masih!)

16. When morning jogs become a 10PM runs at night. (maaf, saya malas olahraga :( )

17. All you talk about to your friends is for AIESEC recruitment, even the hitchhikers that you pick up or pick you up.< /o:p> (totally!)

18. You start to answer your phone saying " Good Afternoon, AIESEC SFU." ( the above two signs is contributed by Justin of AIESEC SFU.) (not that pathetic lah! but I ever experienced it once during my part time job)

19. When you secretly keep instant foodstuff in your filing cabinet and a kettle in the office. (it's already there in the office)

20. You schedule your holiday plans around AIESEC conferences and you make it a point to visit the AIESEC office in whatever new country you travel to. (hahahaha!!! kapan lagi dapat akomodasi dan tour guide gratis!)

21. When you could be taking time off to nap and still do AIESEC-related stuff like this. (super bener nih!)

22. when most of your arguments with your parents sound like this' but i am doing something important with my life, i'm in AIESEC' or 'but this is an AIESEC. event/conference/outing/meeting, it's very important' (THIS IS SUPER TRUE!!!)

23. 75% of your outings are with AIESECers. (lately I'm trying to balance my life, but what can you expect if you are full timer in the office that is your very new experience in the city)

24. in classes, you're stil doing AIESEC work, planning the election day, or the next meeting. (no! I'm so focused in the class, unless I will not understand the whole year of my studey :D )

25. when you go out with people, or at work or at home, or anywhere in the world you have to mention AIESEC in the conversation. (hell yeah!)

26. and in your life (personal and professional) you will say but in AIESEC it was done in...... way. (living the ......way! hahahaha)

27. sometimes dream of AIESEC ppl, meetings, conferences, elections.... etc (I don't remember my dream :D )

28. your screen saver is something related to AIESEC. even when you are an alumnus. (HAHAHAHA!!!! THIS IS SUPER TRUE!!! my screen saver is my members pictures!!! LOL)

29. at least an iteam of your home/clothing is AIESEC.(shirt, pen, mug, small sticker, car stickers, posters, folders, note books, key chains) i got them all... and some ppl have trousers, underwear, socks, scarfs, rings... etc (once people think that AIESEC is such a clothing line :D )

30. you can't seem to walk around without your AIESEC business cards, just in case. (yes business card is extremely important, esp when you need to explain AIESEC in the elevator)

31. you sign off your e-mail with, AIESECly yours. (hohoho sometimes)

32.You go more to conferences, lectures, trainings, seminars, meetings etc than to real parties. :D

33.Listen to the music that your friends never heard of. (Tunak TUnak eh? :D )

34.You know how to dance that music. :D

35.At college, when you have to do group work, you insist to open postulation to the OC.

36.You call your mom and dad stakeholders. (this is super true right?)

37.You speak more english than your mother language. (gosh, do you know how to say .... in Bahasa?)

38.You never give opinions, but offer inputs :D habit...

39.You don't accept gifts because they "don't follow branding guidelines". (there is no gifts :D )

40. When you first think in the Holy Trinity, you think of @XP, Culture of Excellence and Branding. (hahahaha!)

41.Your boyfriend or girlfriend is used to hear "ILY" instead of "I Love You". (unfortunately not)

42.All your friends are tired of saying "no, I don't want to bring a trainee to my company". (nope!)

43.Before kissing someone, you first wonder how many points she/he is worth, not if you like her/him. (nope!)

44.You got a small lecture ready for any time when anyone asks "what is AIESEC?" (WOW! this is super true!)

45.You make a PowerPoint presentation to convince your dad to give you more money. (I even using video and photos)

46.Ask to your friends "feedbacks" on how your haircut looks like. (I think everybody does for this :D )

47.Answer your home phone like that: "[your name], AIESEC, good morning" (seems will be true, since I will live in the MC office for the entire year)

48.Call your parents saying "Hi, here is [your name] from AIESEC". (nooo laaah~)

49.When you have doubts in a school subject, you ask for the help of a mentor. (SUPER TRUE!!!!)

50.In a wedding, you start to punch the table and shout "this is table number one, where is table number two?" (no laaah~)

51.Your MSN nickname is something like "John LCVP ER @PA BAZI People is cool - "I hate aiesec.net" (hahaha!)

52.60% of your MSN friends have similar nicknames. (esp people from the same country/region)

53.Call "Alumnis" old school friends. (nope!)

54.Call old school friends gatherings as a "conference". (OMG! this is super pathetic)

56.Insist to make an output of that "conference" for a planning of the future gatherings. (hehehe)

57.In a party, talking to someone is "show interest". Kissing is "matched". Having sex is "realized". Having sex again is "re-raised". (in AIESEC party, yes)

58.If you decide to not go to class, it's a decision based on the credit policy. (YUP!)

59.It's up to you to get this list longer... (hhahah! enough laaa~)

and I'm proud of my members for this

AIESEC in Surabaya officially reported in AIESEC International Quarter 1 (Jan-March 2010) report as:

rank in 24th from 800 Local Committee globally

it means that we're
number 2 LC in Indonesia

but based on our exchange realization, AIESEC Surabaya got 16th rank globally
with LC Undip we're in the same position..

we're in the FIRST RANK IN AIESEC INDONESIA

this also makes me proud of Undip member, since I was the guest facilitator for their 1st local conference in this term. And I can see that they really feel something about video that I made specially for them.

I saw their motivation to beat AIESEC in Surabaya, and I share this to my member

then Khaleed the President of AIESEC in Undip and me innitiate a competition for our member named

well, somehow I do really proud of my member..

we can ACHIEVE this state even:

we're the smallest LC in Indonesia

in fact we (only) have 20 member in our organization, the smallest number of member in AIESEC Indonesia

we (only) have 4 people (all of them are girls) in Executive Board
(the smallest number of EB in AIESEC Indonesia. fyi, the full team should be 7 people)
so those 4 girls are handling more than 1 department in their hand
and 3 of them are originally not coming from Surabaya
(they're coming from super smaller city than Surabaya)

we're independent, not under university

we didn't have any office before January 2010

and we haven't had much performance before this term (most of the statistic data says zero)

this is the highest performance of our LC (local committee) history

well, this is not easy for us
even a lot of challenges came to us at the moment of achieving this
there are lot of learning behind this

that is why
I do really love and proud of

my members

my vice presidents

many big thanks to:

my AIESECers friends in Indonesia and globally

my leaders

our alumni

our partners

and a lot of people and organizations that give their support to us

THANK YOU!

at last, I'm happy to share this for you :)

this is the note from Jennile Orlanda Ng, the President of AIESEC in Indonesia

I took this from her facebook note:

-----------

The BEST News which brighten my journey in AIESEC Indonesia :)

AIESEC UD and Surabaya 0910....

After 3 years being in AIESEC Indonesia, as LCVP OGX, as MCVP Exchange and as

MCP....
for the first time, i really see AIESEC UNDIP and Surabaya finally showing their

teeth!! (Unjuk Gigi!! XD) and i can't express how much i am so proud of them and

happy for them :) :)

If you haven't notice what happen... Check the DAAL Q1 2010 file which just have

been released! and check directly to LC ranking sheet and you will see the

breaking history story over there. why?

AIESEC UNDIP and Surabaya, whose member always asking themselves, whether they

can overcome other LC in Indonesia, wether it is possible for them or not.
That answer, honestly just can be answered by them.. And i am so happy that they

answer that question this year! in early of the year of 2010 (the final end

sprint of AIESEC long term plan) that they can do it :), that it IS POSSIBLE for

them to beat AIESEC Unand and represent Indonesia on the DAAL File :)

With so much things they still need to learn, they didn't give up (the reason i

am so proud of them is they are the type of people who doesn't shy to admit where

are they among other LC but yet, that doesn't make them pessimistic! But they are

eagerly and with open mindness and hard work, striving to deliver more AIESEC

Experience for their members. And now they show it to all of us

LC UD with their confusion in how to tap the market, how to work more

structuredly for their LC and in how to encourage the member to be more

productive... LC Surabaya.. with their confusion of HR problem, with how to work

more structuredly for their LC and with no experience from past years to really

grow...

All LCs have their own problem.. However, once again we all see, there is no

excuse :) we can do it with a clear analysis on what possible, clear analysis on

how to do it and really DOING IT (together with all entity in the LC - and not

just EB) It is all Possible :)

Thank you so much LC UD and Surabaya, you have me inspiration (really!) and

definitely your success is one of the best news that i get in AIESEC Indonesia

0910...

Thank you all member of LC UD and Surabaya 0910... :)

Oh and btw Indonesia's score ranking 7 Globally from Jan - March 2010 (WOWW WE ARE TOP TEN MANN!!!!!! Imagine, our impact, the number of people that have life changing experience because of our exchange program are number 7 out of 107 countries!!) Although for number of X+L we are not there yet, but as we learn from LC UD, Surabaya and AIESEC Indonesia itself (to be number 7 globally!) nothing is impossible right? ;P

Where is the fuss over the UN climate talks?*

*taken from GREENeration Y note in facebook
http://www.facebook.com/notes/greeneration-y/where-is-the-fuss-over-the-un-climate-talks/107352562638948

Today, one of the most important meetings in our history begins, though you probably wouldn't know it.

The 2010 UN climate talks in Bonn, Germany, won't make the front page of the newspaper, and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd won't attend. Since Copenhagen in December, the media, politicians and public have shifted their attention from climate change to other things. Dinner-table chatter now focuses on health reform, population growth or Tony Abbott's abs

Where has climate change gone? As Peter Costello aptly put it in an article for the National Times last week: "Can a momentous moral challenge fizzle out like this?"

I thought Costello was lamenting the lack of progress on climate policy, and I shared the sentiment. However, he was trying to tell us that the urgency over climate change was nothing more than politically-driven spin.

He's right in that politicians and the media have irresponsibly played climate change as a wedge, rather than the serious issue that it is.

But he's wrong in trying to convince us that the urgency of pushing through legislation before Copenhagen was just another attention-grabbing, invented catastrophe. It wasn't a con – the urgency was real. If Australia and other countries had passed ambitious climate policy before Copenhagen, we may now have a decent global agreement, and these talks in Bonn could be implementing innovative climate solutions.

Both sides of politics are trying to get out of failing to implement climate policy by blaming lack of interest from the electorate. They're hoping that interest in the UN climate talks will wane, so that climate change doesn't have to be fought as an election issue.

However, despite setbacks (such as the extensive media coverage of climate deniers and the Liberal Party's reversal on climate policy), the public (and the science) is still as adamant as ever about the need for climate action. Only two weeks ago the CSIRO and Bureau of Meteorology highlighted significant warming in Australia in the past 50 years. National Academies of Science from the US, UK, Australia, India, China and others, have confirmed that climate change science is as settled as it gets — as certain as the science linking smoking to lung cancer and HIV to AIDS. Climate change a reality that's already affecting Australia and the rest of the world.

However, instead of moving to action, the Government and Opposition blame waning public attention for their lack of courage on climate policy, whereas the opposite may actually be the case.

Could it be that lack of progress on climate policy is leading to disinterest from the public, rather than the other way around? If both sides of politics had actually risen to the "greatest moral and economic challenge of our time" (as Rudd put it) then we would be seeing much more interest from the community now. Bonn might even be on the front page of major newspapers. The public is certainly entitled to be cynical when politicians continue to play politics with the most serious issue facing our future.

When asbestos was found to be dangerous, the government didn't propose to one-day, hopefully, phase out the use of asbestos where it was most economically efficient, while giving handouts to asbestos companies to keep big business and the opposition happy. It was killing people! So they banned it, and the community jumped on board with support.

This meeting in Bonn provides a good opportunity for leaders to stand up and take bold action on climate change. The creation of an international advisory group to find $US1 trillion worth of financing for adaptation, and the UK committing to sign onto a new round of the Kyoto Protocol are good steps in this direction. Australia needs to stop hiding behind false excuses and step up, especially as recent research has show that reaching a target of 25 per cent emission reduction by 2020 will only cost Australian households the price of a cup of coffee a week – and much less of we get a decent carbon price in place. When governments step up and lead on the issues that matter, the community will follow.

Luckily in the absence of government leadership, community groups have started to lead.

Last week the Australian Youth Climate Coalition launched the "Climate Reality Week" campaign. Armed with a new animation and myth-busting fact sheet, young people across the country will be fighting against misinformation and the policy vacuum, educating their communities about the need for climate action. Expect to see banners draped over bridges, young people pounding the streets and presentations at your local community centre.

Australia's youth want to leave behind the political posturing and get to work.

The best time to act on climate change was 10 years ago. The second best time was before Copenhagen. The third best time is now.
