Jakarta tempoe doeloe (Jakarta 70s & 30s)

well, this day I have a meeting in Central Jakarta at Sabang street.
in this street, the area really looks like movie in the year 1970s

seriously, I just don't get why there is a gate in front of the street..

to get there, just need to stop in the Sarinah Bus Stop in front of this building

"you can found Sabang street behind this building then in the intersection you can turn left"
(that's what mas-mas transjakarta told me)

the meeting took place in KOPITIAM OEY, a small coffe shop in Sabang Street
"Kopitiam" comes from words: "ka fe tian", means coffe shop in chinese, then aculturated in hokian dialect, so it's called kopitiam
"Oey" is coming from the owner's name Bondan Winarno.. "winarno" become "oey-narno"

I do really love this place because its so vintage
actually this is a new building but decorated in 1930s era

menu book,
in this menu you can also read the history of Kopitiam Oey
in the golden coin, it's written "kopitiam oey"
the food and beverage is not really expensive for such place like this
around 10.000-40.000 IDR or 1-5 USD

in front of me:

left side of me:

and actually the toilet also so vintage
but I'm not really into taking picture of toilet :D

and this is my order, take cost 11,500 IDR or 1,5 USD
the mbak-mbak said to me that the special one in here is Kopi Tubruk and something I've forgot, both of it named ordinary for me, so I take something that is the favorite one here,

smartly, I've forgot the name of this! :D
(maybe vietnamese indochina coffe :D )

I think this coffe is really strong for me since until this time I don't feel sleepy at all!
(hmm.. I should find out the ingredients)

this is a very super cool meeting ever!

Yesterday, for the first time in my AIESEC (and my personal) life, I've got a chance to have meeting with Supervisory Group of AIESEC in Indonesia.

Supervisory Group is one of the bodies in AIESEC that has duties for observing core activity of the AIESEC and assess AIESEC performance in relation to annual goals which are contained in the annual plan of the association, observing properties of AIESEC, approving AIESEC Budget, giving recommendation of AIESEC performance and reporting in minimum one National Conference in one year, observing the legality and accountabilities of AIESEC, assisting AIESEC to select Candidate President and Candidate Vice President, and attending meeting held by President of AIESEC.

this meeting was superb! we have a lot of discussion both professional and personal (during the break time). And as you see, people in SG are a super fabulous people, and they are AIESEC alumni. (and honestly speaking, most of AIESEC member will really look up to these people in imagining their future in 20 years later... hahaha)

Standing:
Mas Dacil (CEO of Markting Komunikasi Indonesia), Ando (LCP BAndung, MCVPe ER), Shirin (LCP UI, MCVPe OGX), Dinta (LCVP TM Bandung, MCVPe TM), Andra (MCVP Finance), Jennie (MCP, AI VPe), Ika (MCPe), Mya (MCVP ER, MCVPe ICX Czech), Cath (MCVP ICX), Nadya (NST National Accountant, MCVPe Finance), Widy (LCP Surabaya, MCVPe Comm), Mas Aidil (super succesful entrepreneur)

Sitting:
Matthew (GM of TIME International), Mas Tommy (Super inspiring lecturer in UAI & LSPR), Mbak Ari (Treasury Director of OCBC Bank), Mas Bido (super great entrepreneur, receive AIESEC Global Alumni Award)

then, something that come up in our mind is:
How to make every AIESECer in Indonesia can feel the same experience like us?
How to make every AIESECer in Indonesia can have the same opportunities like us?

when we got flight delay...

*even you have a very long delay, inevitably, you will fly...

after we facilitated AIESEC in Indonesia National Planning Conference at Surabaya, we have to come back to Jakarta as soon as possible..

then we took the very economist, effective, and super efficient transport
and we got Batavia Air May 11th 2010 on 2.30 PM

but suddenly, after we just arrived in Juanda airport,
it is said that the flight delayed until 4.10 PM

well,,, okayy...

we're still having happy face
and feeling blessed because we have time for lunch...

and take this picture...

then after 4.00 pm
there was still no signal about the flight arrival...

well,,,

suddenly on 4.30 PM, there was announcement,

"dear passanger of Batavia Air to Jakarta 7P-344, you can take the meal in the Gate 1"

oh my...
I've just came back from 5 full days of conference + 4 full days of preparation & post meeting
I haven't had my hibernation time... and tomorrow I have 2 meetings!!! :( :(

then we're totally random after that...

Dinta started to watch infotainment show in television

Ika started to call her "someone"

Cath start to read her unfinished novel

and me?

I started to eat my flight delay meal :D

thennnnn......

in final! we got our flight at 6.30 PM!!
we're sooo happy!
